10/1/2013 – Energy Northwest’s Packwood Hydro Electric Project was originally installed with an unshielded 5.5 mile long buried 25 pair communication cable between the generation facility and the Packwood Lake Intake facility. The cable was for direct hardwired indication and control of the various functions at the Intake from the generating facility in the town of Packwood, Wa. Over the years the cable failed completely. EN elected retain RAI’s expertise to install SCADA Nexus for teh purpose of reestablishing control and indication of the Intake systems. Contact Dan Ross and Energy Northwest for his experience with SCADA Nexus.
Today the new system became operational and the plant operating staff at the generating facility in Packwood as well as EN management in Richland, WA were able to view and take control of the Intake systems. Below are two stylized versions of the dashboards available via any web browser to authorized EN personnel responsible for the project.
